Where’s your favourite location and why? There’s many to choose from – restaurants in the CBD, Chinatown, Carlton, Docklands, Fitzroy… There’s also many devotees to specific restaurants like the Flower Drum and the Melbourne Tea House. Then there’s the danger of the all you can eat yum cha buffet…

As you may have heard today, one of Melbourne’s live music institutions is shutting up shop this weekend. The Tote in Collingwood is sadly about to become no more.
As we raise a glass to one of the inner city’s few remaining lovably grubby band venues, this seems like a good opportunity to share our memories of the Tote. Any standout or spectacular gigs you saw there? Any personal reasons why you’ll truly miss it?
