We’ve all seen those Melbourne suburbs which are popping up and looking like Legoland – kilometres upon kilometres of insta-mansions which seem way too big for any reasonably sized family.
Critics debate their effectiveness in managing smart growth of communities. It’s better to have a not so big house, they proclaim. But there’s quite a few suburbs out there filled with these types of homes.
So where’s the worst area in Melbourne filled with McMansions and why?

It could be great nightlife with pubs, cafes and restaurants – or perhaps a great suburb to raise a family with a good primary school and community environment. The Docklands are a controversial area of town. Some argue that the area has been developed in an illogical manner… others complain that there aren’t enough attractions to entice locals to spend more time down there.
Everyone’s got their own theories on how the area can be improved, so what would you do to improve the Docklands area, and why?
