I'm partial to Caulfield Park (I live close to it) - beautiful, green, lovely pond with ducks and geese, swings (one or two of which are big enough for an adult...), several kids' playgrounds, a footy/ cricket area, a dog walking area, a BBQ area - the works.
I also like Fitzroy Gardens a lot. I used to work in that part of the City in a rather stressful job, and going for a walk in Fitzroy Gardens at lunchtime did wonders for getting rid of stress and getting into a good frame of mind. There's also a lot of variety; there are all sorts of hidden nooks to discover, and you can explore different parts of Fitzroy Gardens every day and not get bored.

Bundoora Park - playgrounds, bbq facilities, Bundoora farm and historical village, Bundoora homestead gallery and cafe, Bundoora Golf Course right next door - something for everyone!

And of course, Royal Botanic Gardens to walk through and to picnic in.

I see I few regular popping up again and again. Some I've tried and most are good, very good even, but since we are after the best then we shall only settle for the best.
First what are we after as the perfect laksa? Personally I like a small amount of rice noodles, lots of vegetables, good choice of freash meats and seafood, and most of all, a very strong, very spicy soup with a lot of flavors going on.
For those who agree with me I hope you enjoy this laksa as much as I do. They don't advertise doing a laksa at all. On the menu it's just 'curry soup'. Actually kind of off putting.
Ok so between Swanson st and russel st on Bourke st. Just down the target lane is a small take away shop called grand BBQ. I would recommend the vegetarian dumpling curry noodle.
Make sure you tell me what you think!

Definitely Collingwood Childrens Farm Farmers Market and Gasworks Farmer Markets. Both are accredited by the Victorian Farmers Market Association. They are the only legitimate market operators who actually do and mean what they say. Plus, there's no middleman, you buy direct from the grower or producer and importantly, all the produce is local.

Commuting or recreation? Canning St , St George's Road etc have great complete road facilities. Bike paths in Melbourne are crippled by being shared use. This isn't a pedestrian thing it is a design floor which means they cannot be safely ridden at commuting speeds. Too tight, too windy, too flooded.
