We’re all on Twitter, and we’re all addicted to it. Look on any tram, train or bus in Melbourne and you’ll find someone tweeting about something (usually Myki, because complaining about our ticketing system has become the city’s favourite sport these days). But who do you rate as the best Melbourne folks on Twitter to follow?
Maybe they just tweet a lot of funny local opinions about goings on in Melbourne, or they act as your unofficial source for rounding up the latest news going on in the city. Perhaps they’re just someone you randomly came across and have been following them ever since.
Let us know who your favourite local Melbourne Twitter users are, so we can build a list of interesting people to follow in the comments below. Go!

@melbournebitter is always funny.
@hypercosmology is provocative and very, very funny!
@djacenyc of the Wu tang Clan is the funniest and realest Twitter account in Melbourne at the same damn time
@666vodka & @thewestwindsgin seem to be always out with their finger on the pulse with pics and stuff…
Recommend @WithTimFerguson Hilarious dude and @ingridelkner, hot, young and talented chick who is clearly unhinged.
Catherine Deveny! Even if you don’t agree with her, you can admire that iconoclastic streak.
@downesy – combine quick wit and a great sense of humour and you get a stream of hilarious tweets!
@lilithia I met her on twitter and this week was our 1 year anniversary! Some how I managed to make an impression from her 3000+ followers!
@HenryWagons Funny man, great music.
@WithTimFerguson Hilarious! Engaging! …mingles with his audience!
Prof Sarah Joseph, Melissa Castan and lods
@thediscountoom – these guys list specials from small businesses in Melbourne. I joined up recently and on the site you can choose your own interests and they match specials to them and send them to your member page. Pretty cool.
Another vote for @crazyjane13 here! She manages to be interesting, passionate and quite a character, without descending into rampant narcissism in the way that a few of the more notorious Melbourne tweeters have.
@crazyjane13 always entertaining and fun during Question time and QandA
@loupardi because she’s jsut weird and posts lots of pic-spam that makes me hungry
@victoriapolice. Informative, honest and sometimes witty. They are who you go to before you go out if you want to get there in 1 piece
I gotta agree with Gillian; @crazyjane13. She tends to be my first stop for all the news that is news in politics across the nation.
@crazyjane13 is an erudite and very passionate political analyst whose commentary on Question Time is best enjoyed with a packet of Tim Tams and a hot cup of tea.
