Finding a decent French brasserie is a little tricky in Melbourne. There’s a lot of popular cuisines which tend to overshadow the more refined traditional French brasserie, so they can be a little tricky to find.
If you consider yourself an expert in fine dining cuisine around town, have you come across any decent French dining in your travels? They can be hard enough to find in the CBD, let alone the suburbs, so enlighten the rest of us!
Bonus points if you know of a French restaurant with a function room in Melbourne, too – restaurants of any kind which can accommodate a large crowd are always a popular request on this site.

guillaume’s on southbank. It has awesome food and views also well priced
Paris Go on Rathdowne Street is great, as is Chez Olivier in Prahran.
Mon Ami in Nicholson street, Fitzroy.
The food and surroundings at The French Brasserie in CBD are warm, refined and always impressive. Great mezzanine function room also.
Bergerac on King St in the city is also super authentic suburban French

The French Brasserie- in a laneway off Flinders Lane. Perfect secret and hidden.

Chez olivier le Bistro, 121 greville street Prahran ! I have been there many times and its reaaly the best in Melbourne .
