music-festival-crowdMelbourne’s a great city for music festivals – no matter what your tastes.

Perhaps you’re a fan of giant rock or dance festivals… perhaps there’s a smaller jazz or blues festival that you always look forward to.

What’s your favourite music festival in this city, and why?

    Golden Plains. Hands Down.

Mt Buller ATP was the best festival I’ve ever been to.

Yeah, it’s not really in Melbourne, but Golden Plains it is. Meredith is great too, but the slightly smaller scale only makes Golden Plains even better.

I missed this year’s but the first two were brilliant, and next year’s could be absolute gold, even though so far we only know Pavement are playing (good enough for me).

I’m very much over the festival circuit, I haven’t been to a BDO in about 6 years. I gave up on the Laneway Festival as its over-accelerated growth turned it into a clusterfuck of overcrowding, mismanagement and crowd saturation by annoying fuckwits, and I can afford to go see most of my favourite bands do their own headliners now anyway.

Going to Meredith is always relaxing and fun, and mostly devoid of arseholes (admittedly I didn’t go last year when MGMT attracted a higher than usual level of douchebaggery).

Summadayze at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl.

It’s so summer and so Melbourne which makes it a definite winner in my books!
