I’ve spruiked Don Dons (321 Swanston St) before, but I’ll give it another shout-out: big bowls and bento boxes of tasty Japanese food, plated fresh and immediately, with enough change left over from a tenner for a Coke.
Shanghai Dumpling (25 Tattersalls Lane) is obviously a stalwart. You could probably get a good serve of dumplings and soup or rice for under $10, plus free all-you-can-drink tea in plastic cups.
$5 parma with chips and salad at the commercial hotel in yarraville. then $5 for a chocolate sundae for dessert (i usually share this with the other half)
Thy Thy (the upstairs one) on Victoria Street in Richmond. Big vietnamese feeds, all under $10, including seafood.
i agree with ruth… don dons is really great. it has very fast service and great food.
1) Bimbo’s in Brunswick $6.00 pizza (if you have a membership card which costs $10.00)
2) Ember Lounge – Tuesday / Thursday $10.00 wood oven pizza & a pot night
“green” on Sydney road Brunswick. Best food always fresh, Great coffee and Wholesome Cakes
Bimbo does $4 pizzas actually. Makes them the best value for mine..
