The gang scene here is way overstated, there are certain places that are more violent than other but really, 4 million people all in one city with maybe 500 seriously violent crimes a year? I agree that it is 500 too many but its thousands less than most comparable cities in the world. Most suburbs with needle exchanges aren't the best! However that being said, areas such as Dandenong, Springvale, the above mentioned Richmond, Footscray, Sunshine, St Albans, Broadmeadows are all interesting multicultural centers where many unique positive things can experienced and enjoyed. Most suburbs with needle exchanges aren’t the best!
