If you’re after a pleasant shopping trip, there’s a few Melbourne shopping centres that you could check out.
Some have lots of retail stores in Melbourne, but other Melbourne shopping malls focus on boutique stores.
Which area do you think offers the best shopping in Melbourne?

That’s a trick question right?
Definitely the Windsor end of Chapel Street, without crossing Greville Street and treading in yuppy waters.
I like North Fitzroy, round the corner of Scotchmer and St Georges Road for boutiques and Piedemontes is my favourite supermarket. High St Northcote for books, clothes and general noodling. Even though I live in St Andrews now, I will travel back to these areas.
The Salvos on the Windsor St end of Chapel St is my favourite op shop!
If I HAVE to go to a shopping centre, it’s Doncaster – I like the fact that the design includes a reasonable amount of natural light, and the food court actually has some interesting options for the whole family.
I adore Chadstone it has it all & the shoppers always look hip unlike some shopping centres!
Melbourne Central… awesome architecture.
Or the Bottom level of highpoint in Maribyrong – but only the bottom level!
I’d say Bridge Rd, Richmond and Johnston St, Fitzroy/ Collingwood… although there are cool secondhand bookshops in Chapel St (Windsor end), Koornang Rd (Karnegie) and Glenferrie Rd (Malvern) which endear those areas to me as well. For food shopping – Carlisle St., Balaclava (largest selection of kosher food in Melbourne).
South Melbourne market love the place
There’s a little know shop with a very warm “treasure trove” feel, it’s at the corner of Little Collins and King St in the CBD, go check it out: @verachanshop
