Sydney Road Savers.
It’s got variety, it’s got fashion (albeit of it mildly retro).
It’s got great looking clientele.
What’s not to like?
I’d go for any of the op shops in Melbourne, they are really quite fabulous bargains to be had, particularly if you head a little out of town. Savers gets my vote too.
Sadie in Smith St – always a bargain and current fashion
Savers Footscray
For new clothes – Bridge Rd, Richmond has been good but is getting more expensive. I’ve recently discovered Freelance Clothing in Glenhuntly Rd, Elsternwick: great clothes (and different from the usual) at incredibly cheap prices. Queen Vic market is pretty good in terms of prices, but fashion and quality are somewhat questionable – you’d have to be careful.
I agree RE op shops for secondhand clothes. I’ve snapped some amazing bargains in the op shops in Glenferrie Rd, Malvern – a real eye opener. They have some great clothes. I’d avoid the ones in Chapel St.: not good value for money.
