Book Street Toorak for the atmosphere, knowledgeable staff and terrific range of beautiful books. Especially their great range of coffee table books and travel guides.
Brunswick street bookstore. With the selection, service and sleepy tone of this store there is really no competition. I would live at the bsb if they would let me.
Robinson’s Books kn Station St Frankston has the BEST service.
The bookstore next to Alley Tunes at Glenferrie station is really awesome. Readings is an obvious choice, but Carlton one is best. Also the Searchers at the top of Smith street. And finally the bookstore right opposite Windsor station on Chapel street is great. There are cats hanging out in there!! Cats and books. Perfect!
The book shop in Albert Park is fantastic, as is the one in The Concourse, Beaumaris.
Books for Cooks at 233-235 Gertrude St Fitzroy; selling old and new food related books w comfy chairs to sit, read and relax… If you’re a foodie it’s bliss…ahhh
It used to be Readers Feast. It had a great range and the staff were always friendly and knowledgeable. It’s a real pity that it’s closing down.
Page 8 in Hampton Street
The avenue bookstore, dundas place, Albert park; the paperback bookshp, bourke st Melbourne; Already Read, scotchmer street, fitzroy North
My favourite Melbourne bookstore is The Book Depository. I get to sit on my couch at home, and order books online from the UK for one-third the price of a local shop (free postage). Sure, I have to wait a few weeks, but that’s fine — with all the money I save I can head down to my local bookshop (quite like Readings in Acland St or The Grumpy Swimmer in Ormond Rd) and pay the relatively huge local price if I need something urgently.
? There are still bookshops in Melb? Nearly all of my faves have closed, but there is still a Readings in Malvern…
Readers Feast in the city.
Pricey, but such an escape!
The Paperback on Bourke Street. An oasis of tranquility in the chaos of the city; bliss.
Definitely the Book Grocer on High St, Northcote. So cheap.. So, so cheap..
Readings in Carlton, great selection and good vibes.
What bookstore???
