BRUUUUNSWIIIIIICK!
It has a wide range of pubs and clubs, restaurants offering food of all kinds and I’ve never felt in danger late at night. During the day, it has all the main requirements you need – shops, decent cafes, parks, easily accessible to PT and major highways, and it’s just that perfect distance away from the city so as not to be out the middle of whoop-whoop yet still far away enough from the city to make you feel like you’re at home
For me, it’s a toss-up between Richmond and Brunswick.
Richmond has a great night-life and some great places to eat. Richmond Station is a hub for many other train lines. I’ve spent many nights out with friends and family in Richmond and it never gets old.
Brunswick has a nice southern European and middle-eastern culture which makes for some of the best places to buy food from those parts of the world.
I love living in Carlton North.
Clsoe enough to the city to be able to walk into it. Far enough form the city that you do get some quiet. Great parks around – Royal Park, Princes Park.
The cemetery is quiet.
some really good resto’s and bars aorund – La Luna, Geralds Bar. Can wander into Fitzroy easily enough, or out to Brunswick. Love it!
Noble Park. What’s not to love?
Inner city: I wish I lived in Clifton Hill or Elwood.
Outer: Panton Hill – close enough to the city to comfortably commute, but you can still bump into a kangaroo on your way to buy the milk.
Melbourne central because it has the best maccas
Doncaster-
North Melbourne, it is an inner suburb but has the feel of a country town and a still a good mix of new immigrants, working class and yuppies.
Flemington!
Apart from the commission flats, there are such beautiful old houses that have been renovated. The streets are lined with oak trees and it has such a great feel.
Pin Oak cres has Laksa King, Chef Legenda, Verb and other great places. Don’t forget great coffee at the Social Roasting company on Flemington road,
The history, Flemington racecourse, the Showgrounds – the proximity !
elwood, st kilda, cbd, carlton, mainly central places. and box hill and cambewell!
Prahran. It’s super trendy.
Carlton, too.
malvern/toorak
Preston. Train, tram, northland, markets, high street. What is not to love.
