Where’s the best place to be in Melbourne during a thunderstorm?

Today’s question is in honour of Melbourne’s weather today. Reckon you know the best place to get a vantage point of a spectacular Melbourne thunderstorm?

Perhaps you’ve got a tip on a nice, secluded place to scuttle away to during a flash storm.

Maybe you know somewhere that makes for the ideal romantic place during a storm.

Somewhere with fuel, food, plenty of weapons & ammo, and well fortified against the zombies.

There’s a little-known breakwater at Sandridge Beach in Port Melbourne – gives you a panaramic view from the Westgate Bridge over the city all the way out to Brighton. Well worth paying a visit, especially if you’re feeling really dramatically emo during a storm. Can be found here.

Somewhere you can enjoy it! Either tucked up in bed, or from behind your office window. Somewhere under cover with a few beers and a few mates would be awesome too.

I read that as “under covers”. As in… you’re under some bedsheets with your mates and some beer during a storm. Which actually doesn’t sound like too bad an idea.

At home, with all the windows and doors open. And a cup of tea :)

Preferably somewhere dry!

Once when we were on holiday on a houseboat on the Murray River, there was a fantastic thunderstorm. Watching it from the houseboat deck was pretty cool. (Obviously we were moored at the time!)

I’d love to be at Eureka Tower, in the little box thing that turns see-through

Hmm… yeah, I can see that. :)

May as well put a few couches together and make a blanket fort while we’re at it! :)

My vote goes to the William Tell rest house (or called something like that) in the Botanic Gardens.

Failing that, the cafe at the end of St Kilda Pier.

“… Where’s the best place to be in Melbourne during a thunderstorm? …”

hmmm, the distinct lack of water & cost of bottled water means outside “in the rain” filling your water bottle would be a good idea.

@Jake zombies are no match for cricket bats
